Any qualified
elector may request to vote by absentee ballot. A qualified elector
is any U.S. citizen who will be 18 years of age or older on election
day and who has resided in the ward where he or she wishes to
vote for at least 10 days before the election. The elector must
also be registered.
Ballots
are available approximately 3 weeks before an election.
ABSENTEE BALLOT APPLICATION
If you
are unable to vote at the polls on Election Day, you can personally
go to the Clerk's Office and vote absentee.
If you
know you will be out of town on Election Day and when absentee
ballots are available at the Clerk's office, or if you are a student
attending school away from home, you may request that an absentee
ballot be sent to you. Your request must be in writing and state
your voting address in the Village of Plover, the address where
the absentee ballot should be sent, if different, and signed by
the requestor.
Special
absentee voting application provisions apply to electors who are
indefinitely confined to home or a care facility, in the military,
hospitalized, or serving as a sequestered juror. Contact our office
if this applies.
