Committee Meeting

1. Mr. Schlutter called
the meeting to order at 5:00 p.m.
2. Mr. Damrau moved to
approve the minutes of the meeting of April 5, 2010 as printed.
Mr. La Rosa seconded and the motion carried.
3. There was no one present
wishing to address the Committee.
4. Mr. La Rosa moved to
approve the vouchers as listed. Mr. Damrau seconded and the motion
carried.
5. AMENDMENT TO CHAPTER
138, RECORDS, OF THE VILLAGE OF PLOVER MUNICIPAL CODE OF ORDINANCES
- DESTRUCTION OF RECORDS
Mr. Mahoney explained that the proposed ordinance addresses the
Police and Fire Chiefs' ability to destroy records of which they
are the legal custodians, copy attached.
RECOMMENDATION TO VILLAGE
BOARD: Mr. La Rosa moved to approve the amendment to Chapter
138, Records, of the Village of Plover Municipal Code of Ordinances
- Destruction of Records. Mr. Damrau seconded the motion.
Anton Anday, Portage County
Historical Society, offered to archive any records that the Village
is looking to get rid of.
Mr. Mahoney clarified
that proper notification to the State Historical Society would have
to take place and thanked Mr. Anday for his gracious offer. He stated
that he would pass the information on to Village staff.
Motion carried.
6. CHANNEL 7 REQUEST
FOR ADVERTISING
Mr. Mahoney explained that the Village of Plover participated in
the "Our Town" advertising program held by Channel 7 three
years ago. They are once again conducting the program and have asked
for the Village of Plover's participation.
Brad Heinkel, Channel
7 sales representative, handed out a proposal outlining the program,
copy attached. He explained that it includes 100 thirty-second commercials
at a cost of $3,475 airing at various times the week of June 7 -
13, 2010. He mentioned that major businesses participating that
week include Furniture & Appliance Mart, Quirt Family Dentistry
and Mark Toyota.
Mr. Mahoney stated that
the Village of Plover's advertising costs would be paid for with
room tax dollars.
RECOMMENDATION TO VILLAGE
BOARD: Mr. La Rosa moved to approve Channel 7's request for
advertising by the Village of Plover for their "Our Town"
program. Mr. Damrau seconded and the motion carried.
7. Mr. Damrau moved to
adjourn at 5:10 p.m. Mr. La Rosa seconded and the motion carried.
