The Clerk is
responsible for maintaining all public records; attesting to official
documents or actions taken by the Village Board, Committees, and Commissions;
udpating the municipal code book; participating in annexation procedures;
validating petitions; administering election law and procedures; maintaining
voter registration information; participating in and implementation
of redistricting boundaries following federal census; issuing licenses
and permits, acting as the secretary to the Village Board; maintaining
agendas and minutes and preparing publication of legal notices. The
Clerk must be familiar with adopted resolutions, municipal ordinances,
policies, procedures and a multitude of state and federal laws dealing
with municipal services. The Clerk is also a member of the Municipal
Board of Review.

Basic services
include:
- preparing
minutes for the meetings of the Village Board, Administrative Committee,
Public Works Committee, Finance Committee, and Board of Zoning Appeals
- providing
information concerning actions and policies of the Village Board
- administering
elections
- issuing municipal
licenses
- maintaining
Municipal Code
The
Municipal Code is also available for review and research at the Village
Clerk's Office where copies can be obtained at $.25 per page.
