There are currently 8 full-time employees and 12 seasonal workers in the Public Works Department. The Public Works Department is responsible for maintaining all Village streets, sidewalks, trails, street lights, traffic signals, storm sewers and Village-owned storm water out fall. They are also responsible for the Snow Removal, Grass and Brush Pick-up, and Park Maintenance.

A list of all responsibilities of the Public Works Department:

  • Street, curb, and sidewalk repair and maintenance
  • Street, and sidewalk snow and ice control
  • Street lights and traffic signal maintenance
  • Traffic signs and markings maintenance
  • Storm sewer, ditch, and pond maintenance
  • Street sweeping
  • Street resurfacing projects
  • Park turf and playfields maintenance
  • Ice Rink maintenance
  • Park buildings, shelters, and playground equipment maintenance
  • Park trail maintenance
  • Forestry (park & street trees)
  • Park facilities improvements projects
  • Weed control & turf maintenance
  • Snow & Ice Control - (streets & sidewalks)
  • Equipment & vehicle maintenance
  • Plover Cemetery maintenance (shared cost with the Town of Plover)
