Overview

The Police and Fire Commission functions to organize and supervise the fire and police departments and to prescribe rules and regulations for their control and management. To contract for and purchase all necessary apparatus and supplies for the use of the departments under their supervision, exclusive of the erection and control of the police and fire station buildings. To audit all bills, claims and expenses of the fire and police departments before the same are paid by the city treasurer.
